Girls like boys & boys like girls...NOT?
Doesn't the assumption of boys liking girls, girls liking boys annoy you?
I find it extremely annoying, and the individuals unintelligent that think that.
Like, in Beyonce's song "If I Were A Boy", she says "if i were a boy, i think i could understand how it feels to love a girl"
As soon as i heard that, i became very aware how generalized people's assumptions are.
A teacher asked me the other day, "And what if your husband doesn't want to be a vegetarian, what are you going to do about him?"
Although i didn't say it in front of the class, i thought in my head, what if my husband is a wife?
A little irritating, isn't it?

Definitely, I hate visiting family and the first thing that comes out of their mouth is "So, any girlfriends yet to speak of?" It just irritates me, but later I think about it and I just accept that they assume I'm straight and don't think about it any more.

Well...I got pregnant the 2nd day of my period and my husband and I had sex two days before and we are having a little boy...We joke about how all the other sperm got lost and this one did too and found the egg on the way back. My cousin just had two male fraternal twins, but I know a lot of people that do get both.

I don't find it THAT offensive
I wouldn't worry about it too much, there are worse stereotypes
besides, if you plan of having a wife, just politely correct the person, no biggy :)
As for the Beyonce thing, she is talking about trading places ya know, so in a sense she is the "girl" that she's talking about
Well now i'm confused so...
Peace!

No it doesn't annoy me at all. The majority of people are Heterosexual, so that is the norm and what everyone expects until told otherwise. If someone asks you "have you got a girlfriend/boyfriend yet then" either correct them or tell them it's none of their business, not hard is it? Some people are just way to easy to piss off these days...

I work at a retirement home and the residents always ask me how the girls are treating me... I don't feel like I should tell them, but sometimes I really want to because it bothers me. I don't know why... Maybe it's because my grandfather is the same way, and my dad is always pushing women and heterosexuality on me--only my dad knows I'm gay of all of the people listed above.
Not only that, but I know people at school (both college and high school) who often wonder how I can't "enjoy the warmth of a nice vagina" and always mention it.

yes quite irritating indeed. once in my class we were talking about blood diamonds and i was saying how i would never buy one for the person that i married, and my teacher told me that my WIFE probably wouldn't like that very much. it really annoys me whenever someone assumes that i like girls, like when someone asks me who i have a crush on and when i say i dont want to answer that question, they ask me if SHE is that ugly that i dont wanna be associated with her.

I'm really happy that you guys accepted gay people 6 years ago, even before it was a national "thing."

well, we live in a heterosexual dominated world. beyonce is a heterosexual female, so i guess the only way she can imagine what it truly means to love a girl, is to still be heterosexual, but as a male. of course many of us know you don't have to be a boy to love a girl or vice versa, but it is what it is...

yes, and it's because of this shallow minded thinking that we have to change things and correct people like your teacher and speak out.

Yes.
Why do people just assume everyone is straight?
Thats like assuming everyone is white. (no offense to anyone,I did not mean that in a racist way)
Plus we don't judge them, why do they judge us?
