What is the best way to clean silver jewelery?
I´d like something home made, not the chemical cloths or dippings.
I have one piece of jewelery that is all silver, and another one that has some semi-precious stones (not sure the kind of stone, it´s pink? sorry...). I guess I might need two different methods?
Thanks for your help! :-)

Haley's Hints, is a book that uses household items. Its great, but i lost my video of it. I believe he used borax and salt. The key tho, is lining bottom of container with aluminum foil. It somehow charges particles in water or something. All you do is dip, roll, count to 10, done.
after reading some answers, it might be vinegar and salt, not borax

I use regular household ammonia. put a small amount in a saucer or something that you will have room to gently rub it with a cheese cloth or soft towel. I clean my rings with diamonds, and bracelets. It works on all types, earrings, metal buttons and belt buckels, decoration on purses.
Source(s): I have used this method for many items and haven't ruined anything yet. Good Luck. - robert CLv 71 decade ago
