chain jumping when pedaling backward?

After I made some adjustment of the front derailer cage, the chain starts jumping towards the smaller cogs if I pedal backward. The normal shifting is just fine. What's causing it and how do I fix it.

you have hit the most important reason AFTER AJUSTING FRONT DERAILER CAGE IS JUMPING TOWARDS SMALLER COGS IF I PEDAL BACKWARDS,,

Sorry but you have adjusted it not quite right and when you pedal backwards does the chain jump to the smaller chainrings on the front?

you must carefully adjust back till its right again before doing it oil chain if its dry.

was any adjustment done to the angle of the guide if not don't touch it.

just quitely without touching hang the bike up where you can turn the cranks around and rear wheel turns then pedal backwards have a close look what happened and adjust to fix.when sure of what needs to be adjusted.

before go and google sheldon brown front derailer...and read about it all and adjustement section before you go near your bike then go and do what i said and apply what you read and get it right.

hope this sorts it out for you.

Try taking out 1 or 2 of the links on the chain. Also check if all the screws and stuff are secured tightly.

Also make sure that the components are clean and properly lubed.
