Should I get a Mac of a PC?
I am going to buy a new laptop and am looking at both a PC (probably a Dell) and Mac (Macbook Pro 13 inch). Which one should I get? I use my current PC for surfing the net, emailing, using MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, FrontPage, and Publisher) and teaching online classes. I like the cool factor a Mac has, but I like the fact that a PC is cheaper. Any advice?
Price is not a factor here. : )

Don't let anyone tell you that either is better. Not true. If your budget says PC, then PC.
(Actually, a Mac is a Personal Computer, too. A Mac runs MacOSX and some other PCs run Windows, but I won't get picky...)
Anyway, after 10 years using Windows, and 2 years using a MacBook Pro, we're going to get 2 little 13" MacBookPros with SolidStateDrives (SSDs) because they'll be more sturdy for our off-road travels.
You can get OpenOffice to do everything that your MS Office Suite does, but, if you're teaching online classes, make SURE you know how to use OpenOffice BEFOREHAND, as it might be a hassle for you to create your presentations if you're used to using FrontPage and Publisher. OpenOffice is a very slightly different trip.
In fact, you can get software for MacOSX (usually for free) that handles ANYTHING that you're used to doing on Windows, so that's not a problem. For me, it was about a two-week learning curve to get used to using MacOSX after 10 years of Windows.
On the other hand, if you're a teacher, and you NEED a handle for online classes and you need to be sure your students can handle everything you throw at them, think about it. With MacOSX, you'll have to be extra careful when you save files (can be done, but you'll have to pay attention) that it's in a format compatible with ALL Windows computers!
And there's the price.

Get a PC. Plus with all the latest features Windows 7 has to offer. Your PC experiences with Windows 7 will suit you well. Although I would not recommend PCs from Dell. Look at Acer, Gateway, or Toshiba.

PC is cheaper but more viruses and hardware problems compared to a Mac. I have a Mac from 1999 and it still runs like a champ!

I would get a PC if I were you, they are just way more compatible with everything. And if your looking to get a Dell Amazon has some great offers, here's one that might suit you perfectly. If not, just use the search.
