Isn't it interesting that liberals cry about...?

Isn't it interesting that liberals cry about using methods that AREN'T EVEN TORTURE such as waterboarding on terrorists in an attempt to stop an imminent terrorist attack and they call it a human rights violation, yet when they hear about Saddam Hussein having children watch their innocent parents being beheaded, it's "none of our business".

Update:

Do you people not understand that we aren't even using torture and it's not against innocent people anyways?

For liberals--that is, far left wackos--any enemy of the U. S., no matter how despicable, is their friend.

Anyone who thinks water boarding is torture has no idea what real torture is.

Your analogy is faulty. The major difference is that waterboarding is something done by OUR country that we in a democratic society have a say in. What happened in Iraq was out of our control. We didn't have the power to get the Iraqi government to stop torture there, as much as we may abhor their actions. What about actual torture in countries we are allied with such as Kazakhstan? What are you doing about that? That's what I thought. You forget that many of Saddam's atrocities were committed while we were firmly supporting him. It was only after he got on our bad side that he became such a tyrant to many Americans.

We were fine with Saddam going to the World Court for his actions, but it may have been a good idea to have other countries behind us so that we don't become the one main target for terrorists in the world.

My questions is what about the horrific atrocities that went on in multiple countries in Africa? The US didn't care because they didn't have anything that we wanted. Bush went after Saddam to finish his dad's war and to try to secure oil prices, but couldn't once it became obvious that that's what he was doing.

Have you been water boarded? How the hell would you know if it's torture? The ONE Con that tried it said that it was torture minutes after he was water boarded.

Source(s): Now I know you're a genius! Do you have any idea how many people have been water boarded that had nothing to do with terror cells? Any idea?

Well, if true, it would be an interesting example of a contradiction in thinking. However, you are mischaracterizing the "none of our business" as a simple turning of the cheek when of course there is much more involved than saving children from a murderous dictator. That kind of over-simplification is misrepresenting the view of the liberals who were against both the war in Iraq (which also kills innocent children and their parents) and violating the Geneva convention.

Just because someone else is doing something wrong doesnt mean that you have too...

What about Abu Gharib, so many of them were not convicted of anything but they were still tortured? After 9/11 many innocent people were tortured, barley any of them were found to be guilty of crimes.... why don't you get waterboarded and then tell me that its not torture...

Isn't it also interesting that republicans were furious about the Obama closing down Guantanamo bay which regularly uses torture.

Its amazing how short memories can be sometimes.

you dont get to define what torture is, smart people do. the us govt doenst have any legal authority in regional iraqi matters.
