Are there such thing as doing braces in the back of teeth?

I wanted to do braces but i don't want my teeth look like crowded with black metal and I don't like those with colors either. I heard there is 'crystal braces' where it looks less obvious on teeth. But Im wondering if there are such thing as doing braces on the back of the teeth? and if there is, does it give the same results as wearing braces on the front of teeth? thank you to those who help because this means so much to me in making a decision.

Update:

i don't really know how is the placing of the braces on the teeth

I've had braces and in the back of my mouth the brace broke and my teeth ended up being crooked, so I had to go for another year of braces. The only reason they would put it in the back of your mouth (my sister had this) is if your teeth are being pushed forward causing your front teeth to be stacked. Putting them in the back would move your teeth backwards so your teeth are less stacked in the front, but after-wards you would have to get a full set to align your front teeth.

Why don't you want braces? They are made these days so they are hardly noticeable. I don't know about InVisalign (because it is like a retainer that they give you after brace only before hand) and how well plastic will work to align you teeth. I had the same thought as you, about it looking crowded, and I figured if I got light rubber band colors on my braces (or even they even make them in clear) that my mouth won't looked crowded, and it didn't. So getting colors like light pink, or white would not make them stand out as much. But braces are made so well now that they don't overfill your mouth, you hardly know they are there after a week.

3M makes Invisible Incognito™ Orthodontic Braces that go on the back of your teeth apparently they're just as effective as regular braces. I have clear braces on my top teeth and while they're less obvious than my silver ones (traditional braces are on the bottom of my teeth since they're stronger than the clear ones) you can still see them. The Incognito braces sound great except I'd be worried about my poor tongue...that's a lot of apparatus on the inside!

Braces fit on both the back and front of your teeth. They are used to put your teeth into the correct alignment.

If it was just on one side you couldn't hold the teeth in the correct position.

My brother had the clear ones (He was 40) and you barely noticed them.

you can get the braces on the back of your teeth. its the same as if you'd get it on the front, just more complicated than it has to be.
