Can you get an iPhone with the data plan only - no phone plan?

I'm tempted by the iPhone as a portable internet device, but I have no use for the telephone capabilities. I have another cheap phone for that. Is it possible to get ONLY the data plan, without the phone plan? That would bring the monthly charges down to something reasonable. I'm not about to fork over nearly $80 per month for capabilities I don't need. My $5 per month VirginMobile prepaid phone gives me all the talking capabilities I need.

    yes you can have everything except the phone plan
