I've had both in the past. I would for sure recommend DISH Network! They just started their new HD FREE For Life promo. You can qualify for it with their small package. You get 120 channels with your locals included, up to 4 TV's installed free and HBO-Showtime free for 3 months. It's only $24.99/month with the price locked in for 12 months. You can find out everything and order here http://tiny.cc/dishtv
I hope this answers your question!

The Directv satelitte dish works with only Directv hardware and the the Dish Network antenna works only with Dish Network receivers. There is nothing you can buy that will change this or all you to steal signals. >Would a Dish Network control box work with a Direct TV satellite dish and/or vise verse< Do you have trouble understanding? See above. No.

Choosing the best satellite tv service depends on your own preferences. Both satellite tv provider is already a good deal but choosing the service which best fits your tv entertainment needs will give you not just good but the best satellite tv deal.
In choosing the best satellite tv deal you need to ask yourself what you need:
1 - If you need family tv entertainment, choose Dish Network. If you need more sports programming, choose Direct TV.
2 - If you're going to use and watch your tv programming on multi-room, choose Dish Network.
3 - If you want the best DVR, choose Direct TV.
4 - If you want more HD, get Dish Network.
5 - If you're in to budget, get Dish Network
6 - If you are also going to use your PC/Laptop to watch your favorite tv shows, Direct TV provided a software for you to install in your PC/Laptop so you can watch your favorite programming. Note: you still need a high speed internet connection to be able for you to watch the streaming satellite tv.

I've had both. The service is comparable, but we got a much better HD DVR cheaper through Dish.

i have had both dish and direct and i say direct. dish may be cheaper but you get what you pay for. it constantly goes out and you get way less channels. direct costs more but hasn't went out for the whole 2 years i've had it, plus the HD looks better in my opinion
