I can say that is correct, The 90's basketball had everything that any organization wanted...Massive Viewership, bidding wars among TV channels for the right to air games. Dedicated viewers, A plethora of superstars. Only a few weak teams, and a large amount of good or better teams then Average teams.

Then you have Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, a young Shaquille O'neal who all played for MASSIVE media markets...it was a Win-Win Situation for the NBA no matter who went to the finals. (i missed a lot more people)

plus instead of crappy NBA on ESPN/ABC the league had NBA ON NBC! Without a doubt the greatest Basketball program...no argument what so ever

People sometimes tend to overlook the 1950's, it was actually pretty tough for a Center to dominate due to a lot of tall Centers. People tend to think Wilt and Russell's numbers are inflated because they played against weak competition. But remember without Wilt and Russell paving the way, Who knows what could have possibly happened to basketball. Also people think the 1950's basketball was overrated is because they have never actually seen the people play games. I'm not saying I have but atleast I look up the games and highlight reels of 1950's ball. If TV was major at the time like it is now I don't think people would say that

yeah I would say mid-late 80's and 90's had the best competition and also had the most top 50 greatest players of all time.
