Sims 3 update problem?

I get this message: sims 3 base game is incompatible with expansion pack. This happened after I installed the recent update from May I believe. I tried opening it from its folder, didn't work. The expansion pack is Modern Loft Stuff.

What should I do to get the game to work?

    Ahh Im having exactly the same problem! I think it must be something to do with EA :/
