Shouldnt a real "PERFECT" game be reserved for a pitcher that strikes out everyone all in a row?
What could possibly be better than that? Strikeout all 27 batters in a row. Total dominance, no extra needed help from the other fielders to help the pitchers mistakes.
If something really is PERFECT, then that should mean that nothing else could be better. Shouldnt the real title for any pitcher that pitches a "perfect game", mean all the outs would have to be strikeouts. But without that, it would just be "semiperfect".
What do you think?

Galarraga would have been the third perfect game this season, so maybe baseball does need something more to strive for.
What if we say the pitcher not only has to strike out 27 batters, with 81 pitches, but no batter can make contact with the ball--a foul ball disqualifies from perfection.
27 batters, and no one even touches a pitch. That would be epic.
Then again, I'm an Indian's fan. I'll take any pitcher that can find the strike zone. LMAO!

Then there would be no perfect games in MLB. 27 strikeouts in a row is pretty close to impossible. It has NEVER been done in MLB. I think Roger Clemens holds the 9 inning record of 20 Ks. Only one guy has ever done it - Ron Necciai, a minor leaguer. That was almost 60 years ago. It is virtually impossible to do, so the more realistic definition of a "perfect" game for a pitcher.

A ground-out, a pop-out, and a strikeout all count as an out. A pitcher could get a pop-out or ground-out with one pitch where at least 3 pitches are needed for a strikeout. It all depends on how you look at it.

How about going one step farther.
27 K's while only throwing 81 pitches! No balls, only strikes. That would be perfect as well but neither is gonna happen!
27 up, 27 down is an amazing feat for a pitcher AND his team no matter how you look at it.

X. relies upon on the place he hit him.. no longer anybody is out to start a combat in view that could desire to easily harm the team. If its close to the top section or someplace very risky then i'm getting suspicious. I have not have been given any undertaking with men pitching interior in actuality you need to try this usually esp whilst he's crowding the plate too lots or is feeling too soft up there. you additionally can look on the catcher and pitcher's physique language after the hit to work out if it replaced into intentional or no longer. MLB community's Harold Reynolds broke it down so even first graders could desire to realize it rofl

It could never happen, but a "perfect" perfect game would consist of 27 one pitch outs. How about a complete game with a pitch count of 27?

I think it's fine the way it is.
If they struck everyone out in a row, i'd still call it a perfect game... but then give them the key to the city (if i was mayor or something O_o), a Lamborghini, and their own personal blackhawk helicopter.

no that would never happen. im sure after so many batters one would either stop swinging or adjust. and if they stopped swinging the pitcher would have to throw strike after strike. eventually a hitter will hit it somewhere.

True, but that is next to impossible..... It hasn't been done once in 110 years... They're major league players and for each player to not hit the ball fair ONCE is insane.
If someone did that they would go down in history and have it be remembered for eternity...
