A few questions about post-op wisdom tooth removal?
So yesterday I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed - unknown to me until I went in, I thought I was only having one removed - and today swollen looking like I have a golf ball in each cheek. The blood clotted already too which I'm very thankful for.
But the blood clots feel weird, its like the bottom and top clotted together partially preventing my mouth from opening, and it sounds kinda silly but I'm a little worried its going to heal this way! It would really suck to have your jaw partially fused by new healed gums... Is that even possible, or should I stop worrying about it?
Also on the top right part of the roof of my mouth, it really hurts to yawn in just one small spot. Is this something I should be concerned about and tell my dentist, or will this go away with time?

The pain you feel on the roof of your mouth is from one of the injection sites, it's like a bruise and it'll go away soon. Don't worry about not being able to open all the way either, that too is very normal. You want those blood clots there, because they are cushioning the area and keeping you from tremendous pain. Remember to not spit out, smoke, or use a straw as you will be risking losing that blood clot. If that happens you risk causing what's called a dry socket and that's very painful. You had anesthesia that affected your cheek muscles so you probably won't be able to open all the way for a few days. You can massage the cheeks to help loosen the muscle, which is partly due to why you look like you have golf balls in your mouth. It sounds like your on a good road to great healing. Just take it easy, eat soft foods and keep hydrated. In a few days the swelling will all be gone and you will be able to open freely.

If you're having an issue with the clot seeming to prevent you from opening your mouth, you should certainly call your dentist and ask him/her about it.
Honestly, though, having pain when opening your mouth completely is one of the more common side effects of wisdom tooth extraction. Be sure to exercise your jaw by opening it at least ten or fifteen times a day (even though it WILL hurt) because if you don't, you could get something called "Locust Valley Lockjaw", where your jaw will heal partially shut and prevent you from opening it completely in the future.
The roof of your mouth is swollen due to the extraction process, that's normal.

IV sedation is fully specific from localized anesthetic like novocaine. IV sedation comfortably shuts down your cognizance, so you are going to think not anything and be mindful of not anything. The drug used is a steady drip, as quickly because the drip stops you begin to get up, takes approximately twenty mins earlier than you're wholly wakeful. When I awoke, I attempted to invite once they had been going to begin the paintings, lol. But my mouth used to be stuffed with packing and I could not do a lot more than mumble. I did not detect a style of blood till tomorrow while I eliminated the packing. Then I started the salt water rinses, I might positioned the salt water in my mouth and simply moved my head from aspect to aspect to transport it round so there used to be no suction carried out within the mouth. Pain is fully subjective, and specific humans enjoy discomfort in a different way, I used to be given vicodin for discomfort, I consider I used 3 pills whole and best the primary day, as soon as the packing used to be out, it did not harm. If you're concerned approximately dry socket, get your self a few oil of clove. The oil maintains the gums moisturized and is a average antiseptic so your risk of dry socket is broadly decreased. Just a drop at the operative websites with an eye fixed dropper will preserve you freed from dry socket.
