leg hurts when walking but not when i run...?

did a 7miler last wednesday and when i stopped running it began to hurt about 2-3 inches above my ankle on the inside of my left leg. It hurts when i walk and for a couple seconds if i try to run but once ive been running for a while it doesnt hurt anymore until i stop running and start walking... I've tried ice/compression and icy hot... itts gradually getting better but i wanna know what is this

    When you run you are using the ball but on the heel when you walk.
