What are the risks if you get pregnant on birth control?

I have pcos and havent ovulated in a couple months. my doc told me to just start the pack the next sunday. I did and this was day 22 of this cycle ( last few cycles have been anovulatory). but then I was having pre-ov symptoms that tues n wed, and I have been having normal pms symptoms the last 3 days. I really believe I ovulated and we did have relations fri before n the sunday I started bc. so IF Im pregnant, but dont stop bc till I can test in a week, can bc harm the baby? Im taking generic yaz.

No. You will not harm the baby.

Everyone who gets pregnant on birth control continues to take their pills before they find out if they are pregnant or not.

There is no evidence that doing this harms the fetus in any way.
