Graphing straight lines question?
I have never done this before, so I'm clueless. If someone could explain or give a link that would be great.
Ok, so theres a graph and the instructions are to graph the lines using two points.
a)y= x +1
b)y=x-2
c) y= x +2
Could someone please explain how to do this?
And the answers as well pls

Simply assign any value for x or y and solve for the other.
Do that twice and the line passing through both points is the graph of that line.
y = x + 1
zeros are pretty easy to work with.
If x = 0
y = 0 + 1
y = 1
.................. x = 0, and y = 1 ...... first point is at (0,1)
If y = 0
0 = x + 1
x = -1
................. x = -1, and y = 0 ...... second point is at (-1, 0)
Draw a line passing through both (0, 1) and ( -1, 0)

The easiest way is:
First of all set y = 0 : this gives points (-1,0 : 2,0 : and -2,0)
The let x = 0 : this gives points (0,1 : 0, -2 : and 0,2)
Then draw the lines between the respective points and extend it. I chose x=0 and y = 0 because these points are on the y axis and x axis respectively.
