Muslims are all prophets equal according to the Quran?

Why is Jesus is heaven with God and Muhammad in the grave awaiting judgment?

'The Prophet said, '''By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me''' (vol. 5, no. 266).

Jesus knew where he would be for eternity how come Muhammad was unsure?

According to your own Quran, Muhammad is dead and buried in the ground in Medina. Jesus is alive in Heaven with God.

Jesus was sure not only of his salvation but of the salvation of those who believed in him.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ she told him, ‘I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.’” John 11:25-27

1) The only man without sin.

2) The only man to create life.

3) The only man to raise the dead.

4) The only man never to die.

5) The greatest MAN ever born even according t the Quran....why?

Update:

Think Tanker, everything I wrote is from the Quran...name another man like him according to the Quran.

Update 2:

Moses, everything I wrote is written in the Quran not the Hadiths, I will find the ayahs for you.

Update 3:

1) 3:46

2) 5:110

3) 5:110

4) 4:157

5) All of the above...

Update 4:

Tom, thrughout the years I have not found one Muslim who agrees with the Quran..though they all seem to worship the book.

Update 5:

Think Tanker, Can you name another who did these things?

Is He then Who creates like him who does not create? Do you not then mind?... And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised. S. 16:17, 20-21 Shakir

And they have taken besides Him gods, who do not create anything while they are themselves created, and they control not for themselves any harm or profit, and they control not death nor life, nor raising (the dead) to life. S. 25:3 Shakir

Update 6:

Think Tanker, Keep reading and perhsps comprehension will follow.

Update 7:

Mi$$ I quoted your Quran.

Update 8:

Najia?

1) Jesus is dead? Where in the Quran do I find this? 4:157 says he was not killed but taken up by Allah

.

2) If the reason you can't believe the Gospel about Jesus is because thse who wrote the Gospel did not know him personally..which is incorrect..but none the less..this reason you give means you can't trust the Quran either...clearly Muhammad did not personally know Jesus but was 600 years after the ascension.

3) You answer here also means you can't believe the Quran.. the Quran tells Christians to follow the Gospel and claims to be a continuence of the Gospel they HAVE and says the word of Allah can not be changed.

Update 9:

Joseph, If Muhammad did not know where he would be..how is it you seem to know? Muhamamd is clearly in a grave is he not? Has the day of judgment come and gone?

Update 10:

Maryem, So you do not believe the Quran that teaches ALL will be judged by Allah and remember Muhammad prayed for the forgiveness of his sins past and future.

Update 11:

Susan, While the Quran does state that those martyrs will be saved... it does not state all prophets are in heaven. Wouldn't Muhammad be aware of this ayah? Why is Muhammad not knowing of his own salvation?

Update 12:

Muhammad was NOT without sin and confessed and asked forgiveness fo his sin that is recorded in the Quran.

Muhammad was unsure what Allah would do with him is recorded in the Hadiths.

Muhammad is dead and awaits the judgment while Jesus is in heaven today.

Jesus is the only sinless man according to the Quran and the only man so far who has not died.

Muhammad was aware that Jesus was sinless and in heaven.

Muhammad was aware of his own sin.

How is he equal to Christ?

Update 13:

Simple Truth, I have no doubt that the Isa of Islam is not Jesus but is from the imagination of the man Muhammad and according to his misonceptions of Jesus Christ.

Update 14:

Extreme, I do not believe in the Isa of Islam as a true being but I quote the teachings of the Quran concerning your Isa not my Christ.

Jesus Christ taught the atonement and the word of God and the words of the prophets of God concerning the atonement. Jesus Christ did atone for sin and is in heaven with the Father and Muhammad is in his grave, the Isa of Islam is only from the imagination of a sinful man who did not know the truth from God.

Update 15:

Najia, I only hear of Christian scholars who don't believe the teachings of Christ from Muslims.. Christians who don't believe in the Gospel would be the equivalent of Muslims who don't believe the Quran.. only a moron would believe either a possiblity.

Nowhere in the Quran does it say the word of Allah was changed... as a matter of fact it says the opposite.

Apparently you need to read your Quran, if your prophet is not confirmed by God then he is a false prophet even according to your own Quran. (Q. 10:94)

Update 16:

Q 2:41. And believe in what I reveal, confirming the revelation which is with you, and be not the first to reject Faith therein, nor sell My Signs for a small price; and fear Me, and Me alone

Q 5.68 - Say: O followers of the Book! you follow no good till you keep up the Taurat and the Injeel and that which is revealed to you from your Lord

Q. 5:46 - And We sent after them in their footsteps Isa, son of Marium, verifying what was before him of the Taurat (Jewish Torah) and We gave him the Injeel (Christian Gospels) in which was guidance and light, and verifying what was before it of Taurat and a guidance and an admonition for those who guard (against evil).

Q. 6:155: And this (Torah) is a Book We have revealed, blessed; therefore follow it and guard (against evil) that mercy may be shown to you.

Update 17:

Micky, I completly agree.

Update 18:

Skylolo, very good point, according to the Quran Jesus indeed raised the dead..but for some unknown reason had to be rescued from death by Allah.

Muhammd could not raise the dead yet prayed for Allah to spare him when he was dying and Allah did not...yet the Quran says all prophets are equal.

Update 19:

Najia,

From Ibn Sa'd page 265

The apostle of Allah fell ill and he i.e. Gabriel, chanted on him, saying, "In the name of Allah I chant on to ward off from you every thing that harms you and (to ward off you) against every envier and from every evil eye and Allah will heal you."

Let me get this clear Muslims ;Jesus was able to raise the dead but unable to raise Himself? Your Quran tells you that?

Jesus did not create life? What does "before Abraham was I am" mean?

Muhammad was not only a messenger like Jesus (A.S) but also a great political leader as well. He is the fonder of Arab Nation and his leadership was the best of its kinds. Even though the leadership of such a great nation was under him, when he died he left nothing of wealth for his family. What a wonderful leader! Under his government, the poor and the rich, the young and the old, the male and the female, the white and the black are the same and equal. All are being treated with justice. His Speech: His speeches remain the best, full of wisdom and love of his people both the poor and the rich. Bellow is an example of his speech: The Last Sermon: " Oh Mankinds! Listen well. I may not be with you much longer. The weak among you feed them on what you eat, bless them as you are blessed. You will meet your God, and He will call you to account for your actions. Let those who are present warn those who are absent. You are all descendent from Adam, and the best among you is he who most regards God. Think deeply about what I say. Let all your fueds be abolished. You most know that every muslim is a brother of every other muslim, and all muslims are brothers one of another . Between muslims there are no races no tribes, nor must you take anything from your brother except what is given freely. Do not oppress and do not be oppressed. Oh my people! I am but a man. It may be that the angel of death will visit me soon, and death will over take me. But i have left you with a book, revealed by God- The Qur'an, which is light..." All prophets are great. they all did their jobs. Muhammad the greatest? Allah knows best.

The Quran clearly states that Jesus didn't die but was taken to heaven by Allah; however you will notice many Muslims here trying to twist the words in the Quran as they normally do. It is impossible to convince Muslims that Jesus is the Messiah and the the greatest of prophets even when their own holy book says so. They don't even believe in their Holy Book; isn't this strange? While Muslims say they honor Jesus as a great prophet, he is hardly ever quoted in the Quran except when Christians are condemned for believing that he was the son of God. Why is this?

Sometimes I am confused about the resurrection; Jesus clearly states "I am the resurrection, I am the life. He who believes in me will never die." Now if Mohammad believed in Isa/Jesus, I doubt that he is in the grave waiting for the resurrection. What do you think?

Good question though...and very interesting responses.

  • 1♦ What does Christ mean? It means that Jesus is coming back to earth and he will die a normal death like ALL Human beings.

2♦Jesus peace be upon him is gonna be Judged just like Mohammad peace be upon him and there is nobody who will enter Paradise or Hell without judgment, and that's the justice of Allah. Quran says that Jesus is gonna be judged too:

♥{And behold! Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Didst thou say unto men, worship me and my mother as gods in derogation of Allah.?" He will say: "Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.}♥ [Quran, 5: 116]

♦Jesus also does not know the unknown/unseen. Here is what he said:

"No one knows, however, when that day or hour will come—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son; only the Father knows. (Mark 13: 32)

♦As for whether Jesus commit a sin or not, let's see what the Bible says about that:

    Matthew 5:22 (New International Version)

"But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother[a]will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[b]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."

==> Matthew 23:13-36 (New International Version)

    Said by Jesus:

17 "You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred? 18You also say, 'If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath."

====> Wouldn't that be classed as sin according to the previous verse?

♦ How can he create life and he was created himself and he also said:

"I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who has sent me." (John 5: 30)

♦Remember, the Quran lists another prophet raising the dead: Abraham when he divided a bird into 4 parts and called them and they came together and they became a bird again. Isn't that raising the dead too? But most important of all, they both (Jesus and Abraham did that with the permission of God), Jesus said beside the above quoted verse:

"What I teach is not my own teaching, but it comes from God, who sent me. (John 7: 16)

♦As I said, he is coming back and he will die like the rest of human beings. That's what every Muslim believes in and you also believe he is coming back since you believe he is the Christ.

♦Where in the Quran u read that Jesus is THE GREATEST man ever born? it would be better if you quoted the verse. All I know is that the Holy Quran said nothing like that, and all I know is that Jesus came third after Mohammad peace be upon him and Isaac Newton as the greatest figures in History. In this book, Hart lists the opinions of hundreds of Christian scholars about the greatest man in history and Mohammad peace be upon him was chosen as NUMBER ONE ==> The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History Revised and Updated for the Nineties by Michael H. Hart

Yes, Jesus rose from the dead and was with the disciples and on earth for 40 days before he ascended to heaven in a cloud from the top of Mt. Olivet (The Mount of Olives). Jesus is alive forever more. He IS the Alpha, and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is from everlasting to everlasting.

  • All Prophets are equal. Jesus is in heaven because his message has not been finished yet because of the attempt to kill him. Muhammad finished what he was sent to do.

Sorry, but do not use "quotes" from Jesus to try to convince us about anything.

    1. We know they were written many years after his "death" and that there is no possible way they are his words

    2. We know that the people who wrote the gospels could not have known him given the fact of how many years between the writings and the life of Jesus

    3. We believe most of the Bible has been corrupted by men who have taken things out, put things in and did a poor job translating. Why do you think there are so many versions of the Bible and each says different things and some have versus others don't.

    4. Jesus never said he was God or the son of God, not even in the Bible. We believe he was a Prophet not divine.

    5. No true believer in Islam would ever convert.

    6. Many Muslims here on Yahoo have already left Christianity and do not believe in it which is why they became Muslim in the first place.

    7. Deception has no place in our lives.

    8. God would never become his own creation, we are way beneath him.

    9. God said to be forgiven, all one must do is ask for forgiveness (in the Bible) and try not to commit the sin again!

You won't convert any Muslim using lies.

As for your misguided quotes of the Qur'an, read Think Tanker's post.

You should really try to actually read the Qur'an before trying to come up with lies that can easily be disproven.

As for your claim to Tom, if any Muslim is a true believer, one will never deny the Qur'an is the word of God. So your claim is another lie that we can prove!

    edit: @ questioner:

    1) Jesus is dead? Where in the Quran do I find this? 4:157 says he was not killed but taken up by Allah

A: I never said Jesus was dead. Do you not see the word "death"? Christians believe Jesus died. Muslims believe Jesus never died.

A: Even your Christian scholars will not hesitate to admit that the Bible has been changed. They do not hesitate to admit they do not even know who wrote the Gospels but it is obvious to them it was written well after Jesus "died". Maybe you should learn a little bit more about the Bible before you start lying about the Qur'an.

    3) You answer here also means you can't believe the Quran.. the Quran tells Christians to follow the Gospel and claims to be a continuance of the Gospel they HAVE and says the word of Allah can not be changed.

A: No where in the Qur'an does it tell the Christians to believe in the Gospel. The Qur'an states that the Bible has been corrupted and changed by man. No where in the Qur'an does it state that the Bible is a continuance of a corrupted book.

Mohammed pleaded with God to save him? Bull. Muhammad like all other Prophets had his choice to either day or keep living. Every Prophet (with the exception of Jesus as he is not dead yet) chose to be taken at that moment.

You really need to learn what you are talking about before speaking. Stop relying on Islamophobes to dig up a bunch of lies to try and use.

Where does Qur'an say Muhammad's soul is in a grave?

You are a nut and a liar. So now you are back to being djmantx the Christian huh? You people just never give up your craziness. Allah will punish you soon enough.

  • 1 decade ago

Mohommad paid for the crimes he commited before he died. His son's were killed. And a woman poisoned him to death.

  • 1 decade ago

well in Islam all Prophets are equal and all were born to send one message but each time people abuse and don't understand him.. so the final prophet was Mohammad that's why we should follow his religion the last created ans sent from Allah.. Quran says Jesus is alive and never been dead or crossed, it was another person on the cross who looked like him so people thought he was dead and came to life again.... God took him alive to him to haven... in the last day of this life (judgment day) everyone will die to be judged in front of Allah :)

Actually Jesus is not going to live for all of eternity he will come back to Earth, stay for the time willed by God then he will too pass away and then we will all be brought back to life for judgement day.

Every soul shall have taste of death; In the end to us shall ye be brought back

    .(Surah Al-'Ankabut The Spider 29:57)

He is living all this time because Allah did him a favor and saved him was crusifixion.

all of the prophets are alive in Heaven not only Jesus.

Think not of those who are slain in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are living, with their Lord, and they have provision. Aali ‘Imran (3):169

Moses what the hell are you saying, according to the Quran Jesus is not dead

    4:157-158

"And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's Messenger -- They slew him not nor crucified, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture; they slew him not for certain, But Allah took him up unto Himself. Allah was ever mighty, wise."

Muhammed(saws) is the greatest of prophets because he got the message clear to all of humity. There is no need for another prophet after him. The Quran is with us today untarnished and clear from error
