Ants issue in backyard?

I have lots of ants in my backyard, can anyone suggest anything to "destory" them without using pesticides? it's too many and covered a large area. any plants that ants hate?

btw, the ants is in black color (don't know the name of it)

Update:

Ant colony is an issue if you not stop them early. of course I'm not talking about a few ants here and there, I'm talking about tens of thousands as you can see how the colony enteries spread around the surface.

I was hoping not using any chemical (even safe for environment) and try to see what kind of plants that ants dont like to stay around and move out by themselves. some bugs hate garlic as example.

There is a fire ant killer called Anti Fuego which is very effective on red ants (might work on black ants too?). Organic and safe even in veggie gardens. I see you are not in the US so I'm not sure you have the product, but if you scroll down the link a little you can see the "product description" and maybe get the individual ingredients and mix your own.

Ants outside are quite natural and are not a problem, I just leave them alone. If they are carpenter ants, unlikely if on the ground surface, then you need a pro to deal with them.
