What is that white thing called, where painters paint their art on?

What is that thing called that, that after painters paint, they put inside the frame? that white thing where painters paint? like a big paper on wood...lmao somebody help me out i sound crazy...THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....

    Umm... you mean a canvas or are you talking like artist paper propped on an easel while you paint. A canvas is a piece of paper basically stretched around a wood frame so thats probably what you mean.

    painters paint on all sort of things. But if you are talking about canvas. it's a cloth stretched on a wood frame and is usually primed with a primer.

    Most artist paint on canvas. A canvas is fabric like Linen or duck canvas stretched over a wood frame and primed with gesso or another primer.

    To determine if something is or is not art, you must first have a definition of art. If what you see meets that definition, then it's art. For unskilled, yet famous artists, Tracy Emmins and Jean-Michel Basquiat come to mind. Also, check out Jean Dubuffet and remember that Picasso's goal was to learn to paint like a child.
