Verizon Overseas (cell phone solution)?
I'm going to be traveling to Norway with a friends, and we're in need of a cheap way to call the US once a week or so (we'll be gone for about two months)
So we were wondering who has the cheapest cellphone service to accommodate our situation.
We're both Verizon customers, and i currently own the Driod if that helps in anyway.
Thanks so much in advance to all the contributing thoughts

I am in the military and also have a droid. What we do when we are in Iraq is down load skype or another voice over IP program and as long as you can get to wi Fi you can use your phone in Norway by using SKYP or vonage. it is cheaper and still allows you to use the best phone out there LOL The droid does. LOL
The droid should work there too with VOIP. It does work in Iraq as long as you have wi fi. You have to use a third party program though like skype or vonage. You can check out skype mobile and see if this will work for you

The best (cheapest) thing would be to get a prepay phone after you get there and use a calling card. you can still use your droid for wifi for free while you are there if you have access to wifi, but only for data, not calls.
