A lot of that stems from the cold war era, when the USSR was armed to the teeth with nukes that were all pointed at the US, and communist countries were engaging in wars of aggression to expand communism. In conservative ideology, communism and socialism are used synonymously even though they are quite different. Therefore communism = evil, socialism = communism, so socialism = evil...

Are you kidding me?? Communist/socialist reign strips human beings of their rights. It has NOTHING to do with sharing. It's all about control and power. If you lived in a society ran by a communist government, the government would own EVERYTHING and you would belong to the government.

Wikipedia is basically communist, and look at the poor quality of information that litters the site. All it takes is one bad apple to mess up cooperation, which is inevitable.
