whats a good mtg deck that will out last this october ban list?
I currently play a rdw, but i want to play something a little more complicated. More of a mid game deck. A friend told me naya, but most of the cards in that deck are getting cycled out this october, and therefore not worth the money to me. Anyone have a suggestion? like a deck that costs anywhere from 50-150, that would be competitive enough for tournaments. If it helps i have 4 arid mesa and 4 scalding tarn that would be nice to use, but not necissary. thank you
Im thinking a Mono black vampire might be fun

Vampires will almost certainly remain a force in standard after the Alara block rotates out. Even if vampire nocturnus is not reprinted in M11, it is getting the new vampire lord that makes all vampires +1/+1, and can mind control other creatures (though this ability is a bit less useful). Since vampire decks are strong in Zendikar block, I think it is safe to assume they will remain so when scars of mirrodin comes in. Personally I am not a fan of vampire decks because I do not believe that the deck is coherent other than the fact that it is a tribal deck and everything it does wrecks control. Bloodghast and Nocturnus are awesome aggro cards, but terrible control cards, whereas gatekeeper and nighthawk are great control cards, but very poor aggro cards.
Allies is another deck which will likely remain playable. It keeps all of its creatures, but naya allies will lose bloodbraid elf and violent outburst. This may cause another build to come to power, although it is not entirely clear which one. One problem with playing this is that it is unlikely to get any new cards and it is so dependent upon playing an ally every turn. Also, the deck is extremely vulnerable to cards like day of judgment and consuming vapors, both of which will remain in standard for another year. Not only that, but if you're looking for something complicated, this is not the deck for you. Your whole strategy is: main phase 1: play best ally, attack, pass turn, wash, rinse, repeat.
One deck that I would love to play is the 30 lands build. If you haven't heard of it, you can read about it here:http://strategy.channelfireball.com/featured-artic...
Most of the cards that it plays will continue to be legal for another year, and it plays many powerful things. Day of judgment is actively bad for aggro, Jace is awesome period, and can win the game on his own, same goes for gideon, wall of omens is also very very good, and it quickly ramps into either martial coup or avenger of zendikar. It even plays my favorite green card from zendikar: Oracle of Mul Daya! In my opinion the oracle is extremely underrated. Not only does it ramp your mana, but it also burns through all the dead draws that you would otherwise have to find you spells to cast, thereby functioning as ramp and pseudo card-draw at the same time. And don't get me started on mind spring. The only thing holding me back is the price tag.
One thing I wouldn't do would be to get rid of your red aggro deck. So many things in it are getting reprinted that it may be one of the top decks to play, not to mention that you already have the fetchlands.
