What year is my Yamaha 3-Wheeler?

I have a Yellow Yamaha Tri-Moto 125 3-Wheeler and want to know what year it is. The # located on the goose neck is 3x3-021722

    It's pre 1981, when VINs were standardized to 17 alpha numeric characters. Everything Yamaha pre 1981 is a nine digit code.

    Thats not the VIN number...the VIN is 17 digits long.
