What should i do with my dogs poop?

I have a lg dog. He is a 9 month old german shepard and he craps twice a day. My backyard is average size and i scoop it every day so i dont get behind on cleaning it up. What i have been doing is digging a hole outside the fence and filling it with poo for a couple weeks then ill bury it and start a new hole. I cant think of anything else to do with it. Is this a good way of handling this or is there an alternative?

The problem is that it is going to start to smell (especially when it is hot or has rained), although what you are doing is close to starting a compost but then cutting it short. You probably should be putting it in a bag and putting it in your garbage container to properly dispose of it (don't take it inside). z

This is an unconventional answer but it works. Years ago I got a plastic trash can with a foot pedal. I bought some of those camping trailer toilet chemicals, which breaks down fecal matter and put it in the can. I added a little water to it. When I picked up the poops with a shovel, I'd throw it in the can and shut the lid. It was smelly in the can but didn't smell on the outside with the lid shut. When it got full I decided to dig a hole around some trees and pour the poopy solution into the holes and covered it with soil. Guess what happened? My trees loved the fertilizer (the combination of poops and the chemical must be something like Miracle Grow) and my dry, brittle and sickly magnolia tree went wild, grew like a weed and started blooming more flowers than ever before.

We have two standard poodles and we keep a separate trash can in the back yard for poop. We leave it at a far corner of the yard cause it gets flies around it. When it gets full it goes in the regular garbage and goes to the curb.

My daughter and her husband have some sort of thing that's in the ground and uses chemicals that break up the poop. I'd use one of those if I could train my dogs to go in it! lol

If you don't want to flush it, start a garden and use it as fertilizer. You can also train your dog to "go" in a certain area in which you don't mind it to be left.

And that stuff ends up in the water system back into your drinking water ! We put ours in bags and into the trash!

Start a composter or a garden and use it as fertilizer, otherwise bag that Sh*t and get it outta there!

Get the smallest garbage bags possible and when you scoop, put it in the bag, tie it up, and put it in the garbage.

Well, you could throw it in the garbage and take out the garbage.

Flush it down the toilet, or put it in a plastic bag and throw it out with the trash.
