Looking for a purebred Russian Blue Kitten for company.?

I'm a single guy and I live alone. I need some kind of life form in my place other then a plant so I thought about a pet. After a good amount of research I came to the conclusion that a Russian Blue was the way to go. The problem is that I don't know where to find a purebred Russian Blue kitten in the LA, CA area. Any help (kitten donations) would be appreciated.

If you are living alone and going out to work during the day you might want to think twice about getting a kitten, especially a single kitten. They really need attention and need feeding several times a day. Their stomachs are too small to take in enough food in just 2 meals a day. They are also a lot of work and much more destructive than adult cats on the whole. If you decide on an adult instead then try doing a search for 'russian blue rescue' or similar and you might find there's a specialist breed rescue with adults that need rehoming. You should also consider getting two.

If I was you I'd go visit a local rescue group. Even if you don't end up falling in love with a cat there (you may well do...) you can have a good talk with the staff and maybe find a few things come up that you hadn't considered.

No-one is going to donate a purebred Russian Blue kitten... If you do go on that route you need to first do a search for breeders. You may find you have to travel to find one. Do NOT get a Russian Blue kitten from a pet shop or direct from an advert where the seller offers to deliver or meet you halfway (and doesn't want you to visit them). These are likely to be kitten farmer kittens: the kitten will likely be inbred, unsocialized, maybe diseased, and you will be paying to keep mum and dad in poor conditions and being bred to death. Never buy a kitten out of pity: you are just encouraging that person to do it again. Walk away and report it if you've seen something bad.

A good breeder is one were you are able to visit and see the kittens with mum. Their cats are tested free of FeLV and FIV. Kittens leave with vaccinations at around 14 weeks (no kitten should leave mum before 8 weeks). They have only a few breeding animals: large numbers are a warning sign. They should ask YOU lots of questions about your suitability as a home for their kittens.

Good luck! Make sure your new cat/s are neutered and vaccinated promptly. I think it might be illegal in your area now... but do not get them declawed. Here's some information on why not, if you were considering it:

In essence, a Russian Blue cat is only a organic Russian Blue cat once you've a registered and criminal pedigree paper putting forward so. also, you're saying that the kittens at the instantaneous are not finished Russian Blue pedigree, so in this get at the same time you are able to't, for moral motives, promote and promote the kittens on the marketplace as finished Russian Blues. the overall public are extremely savvy about what they comprehend and choose even as they are truly searching for a pedigree cat as they are going to be searching for finished pedigree papers that were issued by using TICA, CFA ACFA or different valid international cat governing bodies, breeder/new proprietor contracts which assure the well being and upbringing of the kitten to be vet checked, vaccinated, wormed, abode educated and some human beings even ask that the kitten is already and correctly microchipped and neutered. (All this expenses 1000's of funds in line with kitten). because your kittens at the instantaneous are not finished Russian Blue, they are absolutely a mixed breed and not in any respect a organic breed, so that you are able to't charge for rehoming them, except for a nominal volume so that you're ensuring the kittens a reliable abode as those who elect to provide a kitten a reliable abode will pay a nominal fee. it is a reliable way of creating particular the kittens do not flow to abusive houses or used for issues worse like laboratory experimentation kittens. the international has adequate BYB breeders contributing to the overpopulation of undesirable kittens and cats, so do your Russian Blue lady a favour for her healthwise and also you from the hassle of kitten abode searching and get her spayed asap. playstation i'm a registered breeder of Maine Coons and that i'd not in any respect breed any of my Maine Coon ladies to the different breed. that's unethical and also you at the instantaneous are not doing the breed any favours by using diluting the breed pedigree. the completed element of being an ethical breeder is to maintain and strengthen that different breed's well being, temperament and conformation. go away breeding to those who comprehend a thanks to do it wisely and ethically!!
