Dressing up your helmet?

So I was supposed to be going to a parade, but of course we are in a downpour, so I'm online instead, with my horses in the barn munching hay.

What are some neat ways you have of dressing up your helmets? Obviously the parade is on my mind, but I'm also wondering about other events. In Hunters you are pretty well limited to traditional black. What about for fun events, or dress up occasions? Any ideas?

Update:

Those links are wonderful! I'm glad you said something about not using glue or anything on the helmet itself. Looks like we could doctor up the covers though (Or the caps? :P)

    long time no see!!!!

are you talking about like, adding stuff to your helmet? this is a lame downer answer, but apparently you're not supposed to add any kind of paint or adhesive (like stickers) to your helmet. i just got a new helmet, and i was reading through all of the attachments, and it said it can weaken the plastic (making it weaker in the event of a fall). so i guess that pretty much just leaves caps, since attachments aren't good!

i'm curious what other ideas people will have though, because i'm riding with farm friends to my graduation party tomorrow, and i'm dressing up my horse :) , so i'd dress up my helmet too if i could!

edit: i don't know why i said cap instead of cover...is there something called a cap? i couldn't have just made that up...lol. or maybe i did. who knows :P

Edit edit: LOLOLOL!!!! i think everyone at the farm would think i've gone mad if i showed up with one of those on my head!!! they are kind of cute though... :D

It depends what the theme is! If it is a funky fun vibrant colour theme than go for a neon coloured helmet cover or a funny patterned helmet cover. Add some bows or stickers or stuff that wont spook the horse, but will add fun to your costume :)

I have no idea if you could paint or decorate a helmet, and judging by Lyla's answer that you're not supposed to, I'm going to say you shouldn't do it.

You could always consider buying helmet covers to add a little excitement to your personal taste:
