Can I use USPS first class mail large envelopes to ship video games?
I already shipped an N64 game and a GameCube using the USPS large envelope first class shipping. They were in form fitting envelopes.
Will the package make it to its destination?

Joe,
Depending on the weight and shape, you can use First-Class mail to ship a large envelope.
The maximum weight for USPS First-Mail Large Envelopes is 13 oz. Anything heavier will need to use a different service such as Priority Mail.
The maximum size of a large envelope is 12 inches high by 15 inches long by 3/4 inches thick. Anything larger in any dimension is a package and requires additional postage.
According to Amazon's listing for an N64 game, the weight of an N64 cartridge is ~3 oz. As for the GameCube, I am going to assume you are referring to a GameCube game, not the system itself. Amazon lists a game at ~3.2 ounces. If you add in 1-2 ounces for packaging and round up to the nearest ounce, your package likely weighs around 8-9 oz. This weight can be shipped as a large envelope, but it will require the correct postage.
If you shipped them separately, they are probably around 5 oz each.
For large envelopes, the first ounce is $.88. Each additional ounce costs $.17. This means that a package weighing 9 ounces would cost $2.24. A package weighing 5 ounces would be $1.56.
Assuming you used the correct postage, your shipment(s) will arrive at its destination. If not, the package(s) should be returned to you.

There is no free packaging for first class mail. You can buy an envelope (preferably padded) at the post office. FWIW, you need to think about how to ship before you list.

It would depend if you affixed the correct amount for postage. One 44 cent stamp won't be enough. It may slip through, but chances are it may either come back to you or delivered, with a postage due notice.
