Are raw potatoes safe to eat?

Please tell if their are specific kinds that I can/can't eat raw.

I just had a small piece and I like the flavor.

Yes it is. The small amount of solanicins will not hurt you and are not destroyed by cooking anyway.

Yes, it's fine. If there are green spots, cut those off first. Enjoy!

Edit: an Australian study shows they contain a small amount of toxic ingredients but finds them generally safe:

    "6. Conclusion

"Raw potatoes sold in the ACT had detected minimal levels of Cadmium and glycoalkaloids and are unlikely to pose any public health and safety concern. They were found to be mostly of good visual appearance having minimal greening or bruising occurring.

    "7. Recommendations

"Anecdotal evidence suggests that it is already well known in the community that green potatoes should be avoided, but it is less well known that damaged tubers should also be avoided. As glycoalkaloids are concentrated in the outer layer of potato tubers (Smith et al) it would be appropriate to recommend that consumers peel potatoes before consumption, especially if the potatoes show signs of greening or damage."

All you had to do is type "eat raw potatos" (no quotes) in your search engine, and you could've found what I did: "Yes you can eat potatoes raw but they are not very appetizing. Some raw fooders heat potatoes at 118 degrees F, the highest temperature possible without destroying enzymes, for long periods of time. The result is a potato that is supposedly raw but tastes cooked. There are recipes for that approach in Gabriel Cousen's book, "Conscious Eating". "

They are safe to eat, but not very nice, they are awfully starchy.
