Can dogs be gay? see details.?
My dog used to hump male dogs when he was about six months old and I realize that was a male dominance thing. Now he is twenty one months and only humps one dog, a male. He does this every time he sees him and gets quite excited. My dog's parents are grand champions and yes, I have the papers to prove it. Two people have sent their bitches to us two mate with my dog so we can continue this excellent line. My dog is totally disinterested despite the bitches best efforts to attract him. Do you think he is just a late bloomer or could he be gay?

Despite what everyone will tell you, there IS homosexuality in the dog world. Yes, the VAST majority of time is has to do with dominance, but there is the odd case where a dog (or any other animal) is "gay." This is a well known fact.
Has he never bred successfully? It could be a hormone imbalance. I'd take him to the vet to be checked for this. What breed is he? Some breeds need a lot of "assistance" to mate, if they can mate naturally at all.

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://biturl.im/aUGUM
The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don't achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren't putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.
The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.
Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

Dogs get sexually excited over anything. They also hump anything. Gayness is not part of it--it's just animal sexuality.
Talk to a breeder about a dog who's just starting out being used as a stud, it's not always something a dog falls right into on the first few times.

It is not sexual. My mom had a female chiuaua that humped...and females can show dominance too. She humped other female dogs...but it wasn't gay. She was just weird like that.
I don't think that dogs think of gayness the same way humans do. I suppose an animal can be but it would just not be the same as for humans. We think about it too much a dog is a dog and don't really think about stuff like that.
My dog will hump another dog until he sees a me throw a ball and he quits. (He's neutered and still humps...it is just dog behavior)

I've read this list before. It's quite witty and well-written. What I got the biggest kick out of is the doofus who completely and hilariously misunderstood the list.

No.
They have the drive to mate to reproduce. Any humping that your dog has done/is doing is not driven by sexual attractions. That is a human emotion.

dogs can not be gay...
maybe your dog doesn't want to add to the problem of untested, untitled dogs breeding just because their owners think its a good idea

I think my dog is gay....should I put him to sleep ? He is an otherwise excellent dog, pet and companion and I have had him for 5 years now. He is well behaved and a pure-bred minpin, but only seems aroused and interested in other males and completely ignores all female dogs. While I do not want to mate or anything like that, the thought of a gay dog repulses me ! I am a devout Catholic and very religious. I firmly believe homosexuality is evil and immoral.....for humans and animals alike. I heard you cannot change the sexuality of anything....and am seriously considering having him put down or feeding him rat poison....to end this possession by the Devil and let him just perish, knowing Jesus would want it this way. What do you think I should do ?
