I think God gives good chance to all; even atheists?

What do you think?

I think God gives good chance to all; even atheists..........Look at all the problems that are continuing to occur; oil spills, etc....... It is obvious that man by himself is on a path of calamity that will lead to self destruction. But when as these events occur time after time, did you ever notice that after each occurs there will be a recovery of sorts and life goes on? But then another comes along and then yet another; these types of things and times of trouble were predicted to occur by the Bible, and actually were a "warning" to those living in these times that God was near to act for his followers. But still God does not act straight away; it was never meant to be an immediate revelation. As these things occur, people's minds get conditioned to accept the changing world we live in and either not care or foolishly think of it as we will get through it without the need for a God.

So basically when God does act, he can say that he did give enough warning and you did care for the warning signs. He can say that you were ignorant of him and were quite happy with the way things were occurring on the Earth; but then he can say that the way that it did occur was not the way he wanted and so then, you are not right for what I want.

Update:

as if oil rigs are the only problem; in any case don't you think the after effects from just this one oil spill will not by devastating?

Update 2:

If there is one thing that man has never learned, it is how to adjust after a mistake is made. Didn't you ever notice how the same mistake is repeated time after time?

Update 3:

Hawaiian_Style_Warrior: Now here is the point; God wants people to look for him and acknowledge his superiority; not simply do nothing and hope for the best. God has compassion but he does not want free loaders.

Update 4:

Doozlebong: the truth hurts doesn't it, but you could address the question.

"It is obvious that man by himself is on a path of calamity that will lead to self destruction."

"God" seems to have given you an awfully healthy attitude about our future.

you say: "If there is one thing that man has never learned, it is how to adjust after a mistake is made. Didn't you ever notice how the same mistake is repeated time after time?"

The 'mistake' lies in cleaving to a fallacious world-view, that depends directly from the myths, superstitions, fairy-tales, fables and fantastical delusions of an ignorant gaggle of Bronze Age fishermen and peripatetic, militant, marauding, murdering, genocidal goat-herders. Why don't you consider trying reality, instead?

i gave god plenty of chances for the first 13 years of my life, i did ask him to reveal himself, and don't say i wasn't sincere enough because i was, but i got nothing. but even if i did i know now that that is still not proof of anything, first person subjective experience is anecdotal by it's very nature. you assume that a person can have a completely objective experience and not be mistaken. you say that god loves us and that all our questions will be answered in heaven but how do you KNOW this? don't say faith, faith is another word for unfounded assumption. according to the teachings of your religion (i'm assuming your christian please correct me if i'm wrong) i'm going to hell anyway in which case the answers won't matter one bit because it is too little too late

  • We learn from our mistakes.... in the grand scope of things, we as civilized humans are still in our infancy...... we have a lot of mistakes to make and a lot to learn from them........ I don't know how this even relates to god...

You're right, when one out of THOUSANDS of oil rigs has a problem, it's clearly a sign from god and not statistical odds.

you definitely have a good point on how God may have many reasons for his actions but I personally think that He gives chances to everyone, even athiests.

Do you pray that God will increase your ability to do good,

and decrease your ability to do bad?
