Credit Card Help!!!!!!!!!?
My sister bought a washer from a certain major store that begins and ends with an S, and she signed up for their credit card ONLY because it offered no payments and no interest for six months.... Less than a month later she has a bill with tons of interest and a minimum payment of 50 dollars! One customer service person said yeah you should have that let me transfer you and another says no you owe it? Now they are practically stalking her calling her every 5 minutes!
What should she do?
Would a lawyer or something help?

Your sister needs to read and understand what she is signing when applying for credit. She obviously has no idea how these no interest for 6 months offers work.
During the first 6 months of the contract, she is still required to pay a minimum payment. If she doesn't the FREE interest part goes away.
She would have needed to make the $50 a month or whatever the minimum payment is, and have the purchase completely paid off before that 6 months is up in order to avoid any interest. If she didn't pay it off or as in her case, didn't pay a thing, before the 6months were up, the interest for the 6 months is added to the bill and that is what she has to pay.
Tell her next time she signs up for these things, read the fine print and understand what she is getting into before proceeding. A lawyer won't help you...he/she will just tell you what I did. That you need to pay the bill. LOL

She needs to pay. She got the appliances. If she doesn't make at least the minimum payment, it will be reported to the credit bureau and hurt her credit. Make the payments and send Sears a letter complaining about the term change.
By the way, I seriously doubt the special offer was no payment and no interest. Normally with those special 0 interest deals, you still have to make monthly minimum payments. If you fail to make a payment, you lose the special interest deal. I suspect that she failed to make the first payment which terminated the 0 interest. Now the account has late fees and interest.

First she needs to read the fine print of EVERYTHING she has signed. Often times it's not as simple as "no payments/no interest for 6 months."
Next, she needs to speak to a MANAGER of SEARS and get everything in writing. Get them to send her an updated bill. Answer those calls and keep requesting a manager.
That being said, at this point I would worry about her credit. I won't get into the reality of what your sister SHOULD have done, but really - minimum payments are only $50. That's not much. I would prefer to save my credit score by paying it off as quickly as possible first, not trying to make sure they stick to their side. She needs to keep that no interest and pay it off within 6 months or that washer is going to double in price really quickly.

Well, if she only signed up for the card for the deal, and she can't get the deal, then she should write a check and pay it in full like she was going to do before they talked her into the card.
