If I am exposed to strep throat, what is the likelihood that I will get sick?

My boyfriend started feeling a little "off" yesterday evening. He had a cough and lots of mucous buildup. He couldn't sleep all night, and in the morning he told me his throat hurt and he thought it might be strep. He had a fever as well. He got checked and received a positive strep test. So, now I'm concerned that since I spent so much time with him and strep is highly contagious, is it likely I will get sick with strep now too?

That really depends on your immune system; and whether or not he was running a fever when you were around him; generally speaking it is highly contagious but most often is only passed from one to another when the infected person is running a fever.
