Do you follow a Madhab?

Update:

Madhhab or Mazhab (Arabic مذهب mæðhæb pl. مذاهبmæðæːhıb) is an Arabic term that refers to an Islamic school of thought, or fiqh (religious jurisprudence).

Update 2:

Actually I was just curious if people here followed one or not. (Wondering if I need to and whatnot)

I generally follow Shafi Madhab, this is being taught to me since childhood. However, I do not feel need to stick to one madhab. Whenever I find that any other opinion is stronger, I follow that also. The only reason I follow Shafi Madhab is that it is easy for me start with. Otherwise I have to start directly from no where. I am not expert enough to start directly from Quran and Sunnah.

My community are followers of Hanafi Madhab. I don't follow any. They are against the basic principles of Islam. And filthy fatwas like if two persons goes for stealing from a house. One is outside the house and other being inside and giving out the valuables thru window/orifice. Both of them NOT punishable. Weird, isn't na?!!

I look at all of them and pick which one has the most evidence for it.

I look at more than just Sunni Madhhabs though. Although I myself am closer to Sunni than anything else.

I know we follow Qur'an and Sahih Hadith. I don't follow Madhab and I think neither does my husband, otherwise he would have mentioned it to me.

The link shows that the Sunni Muslims are fundamentaly at odds with the deviant wahabi/salafi cult.

But I love to Read the Quran and follow the Sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammad (pbuh) because that's what Allah SWT wants us to do. =)
