Does anyone actually drink buttermilk?
I know it's used in recipes, but I've also read that people in the South drink it to keep cool. So have you ever just kicked back on a hot day with a cold glass of buttermilk?
I just drank some, and it tasted sort of like a lassi.

Yuck, I think it's disgusting to drink just plain buttermilk.

Its not butter with milk... its actually curds (yougurt) diluted with water and churned till butter starts gathering. It tastes really good. More so with a little salt and pepper in it :) We drink it at home. Its usually served right after a meal in India (where i am from)
