This is highly debated in the nature vs nurture aspect of biology. If you believe in nature then talent is passed down and athletes would "typically" only come from families of great athletes. If you believe in nurture, then talent cannot be passed down and athletes are not "born" but are developed through hard work and dedication. Certain aspects from each belief are true in my opinion. There are some athletes who were born to play the game and others who worked their *** off to get where they are.
