does anyone like the new season of SYTYCD?

So far, it's not as good as past seasons. I don't like the new studio. And Nappy-Tabs are crappy choreographers. They need a much better hip hop choreographer, someone of the same caliber as Shane Sparks. I noticed they don't have many black females on the show. A few seasons back they had a gem of a contemporary dancer named Chelsie Trail who went home early but should have made the top 4 or 5 at least. Maybe that scared off a lot of talented black dancers who figured it's not worth the trouble.

Edit - I just looked up the group pic from season 6 when Russell won and there were 6 black dancers in the top 20, 3 men and 3 women. I think my memory is slipping.

Actually, I really like this season so far! All the dancers are superb & I think the level of dancing - technically & emotionally - has risen. Of course some people who deserved to make the show didn't (like always), but this year it seemed like there were more people who could have made it didn't. I think it's because of the whole new setup, where only 11 dancers made it & they're using 11 dancers from previous seasons. I agree with you that anthony was incredible; I thought he was gonna make it! Just curious, why do you want more black people to make the show? Also, travis wall + choreography? I think YES.

I like it. I like the format way better. In previous seasons, when contestants were paired with the same person for the first several weeks it was common for one of the dancers to pull the other one through who maybe didn't deserve it. Back then, people voted for couples. This time, right from the start voting is for individual contestants which is way more fair in my opinion.

As far as there not being enough black girls, yeah it's true that they seem to be few and far between. But if you look at the auditions, there aren't many black girls trying out either. I would like to see more diversity, though, so maybe your question will motivate more black girls to try out!!!!

I dont like the season so far. I dont like the fact that they brought back the all stars because they are all so good. They make the new contenders look bad comapred to the all stars. I think they should reconsider using the all stars as partners. It isnt working. i do like the all stars but not with the new contestants.

Yup its good I really enjoyed it a lot.
