Why is the oil light on in my 2004 chrysler Sebring?
I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring with a 2.7. When the car gets warm the oil light comes on at idle. What causes that? I have read that the the oil galleries in these motors get stopped up. Will a motor flush help? I changed the oil and replaced it with 20w50 and the same thing happened. What is the best way to handle this?

The oil pressure sensor may need to be replaced, or the connector modified. There is a technical service bulletin about this condition which may apply to your car.

First and foremost STOP driving it!!! Next check your engine oil. If the oil level is good then have it towed to a repair facility, because if there is no oil pressure you will fry that engine .

You put in a thicker oil. That probably won't help. I would drain that and put in a synthetic 5w30 or thinner right away.
