Where can I find a copy of my birth certificate if I was born in another state?

I'm in the process of moving, but lost my birth certificate. Was trying to see if there was anyway in the state where I could get a copy off file until my original arrives in the mail. Plz help...thx in advance....

    There is a company that works with all of the states that you could order a copy throught called VitalChek but I doubt they could get it any faster than you can, plus they charge extra for the service. http://www.vitalchek.com/express-vital-records.asp...

    Only the state or county vital records office where you were born has the original one filed by parents and are the only place you can get a copy, either by mail or in person.

    1. Go to the city or town hall clerk's office where you were born. 2, Call, write or go online with the state's agency that keeps "vital statistics," usually the Department of Public Health or another designated agency (go to the state's official website and type "birth certificate" in the search block).
