Having problems finding a Insect on Animal Crossing?

I am trying to find a snail on Animal Crossing (Game Cube Version) They are suppose to be on the flowers at anytime, and I have done planted some flowers and I haven't yet come across any snails.

Can some one please help me on this? It has to be some one who has played this game. 10 points issued to someone with the correct answer! Thanks

Update:

I am unable to log into the Animal Crossing Community site; because my computer will not allow me to have access to the site.

    You have to look on flowers when it's raining. Be careful as you approach because you don't want to knock the snail off the flower.

    Snails: only on flowers (except tulips) when its raining.
