Why did Michele Bachmann (R) say she thinks BP is getting "fleeced" because it has to pay for the cleanup?
During BP CEO Tony Heyward's testimony today before Congress, conservative Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann stated that she believes BP is getting "fleeced" by the US government because BP agreed to put up $20 billion to help pay for the damage it caused!
Whose side is she on? The American people's side? Or BP's side?
.
By the way, BP agreed to pay the money, and no one has been charged with a crime. So no "due process" rules apply.

She's just bitter that it took Obama only 10 minutes to submit BP into a $20 billion payout for the disaster they caused.
Clearly, she's against anything Obama does, even if it means being an un-American, un-Patriotic, ignorant, bitter whore, who rather see America fail than succeed. No wonder she's a darling of the teabagger crowd.

If BP doesn't pay the tax payer will. That's the problem, we can't pay for it because the government is broke and so is the tax payer. It will cost BILLIONS to clean this up, maybe even a trillion + dollars. But lets be clear about one thing, the tax payer will pay for this mess in the long run. But the question is how many times do you want to pay? Just pay once or pay twice? BP is going to up their prices to pay for the clean up, I bet you by the end of the year gas prices will be close to 5 dollars a gallon. We gotta pay for that, if the government decides to pass up another "corporate welfare" bill to aid BP we will likely be taxed to pay for that which would be billions. Either way, the people are going to lose. All those lunatics demanding the president to take more action are numb skulls, there is nothing the government can do to help except send billions towards BP. It's not our responsibility to clean up a mess caused by a corporation, the responsibility lies with BP. If BP can't clean it up, the government should slam them with the 13 billion dollar fine for breaking the law by spilling millions into the gulf, and tell BP to hit the ******* road and never drill on our shores again. Once that's done send the money to the local coast guards and to private industries to help with the clean up.

I am not in anyway justifying BP's actions but this is a very tricky situation. Remember a few years back when Enron collapsed and all of the American people that lost their investments and retirements because they had invested in the company?
Millions of British people have pensions with BP. If the American government bankrupts BP there will be an international crisis the the likes we have not seen since the war of 1812.

They (BP) are already required by our laws to pay for everything, what happened today was more threats and thuggery by a law breaking Constitution trampling administration, that will likely lead to 0bama and his buddies getting a large % of the 20 billion dollars that is to be set aside over the next few years by BP.

republicans are not for the 99% of the people in the country. They get paid to take up for the greediest people. Not all people at the top 1% are greedy but the ones who make the most & pay off these republicans make the most money & pay right wing media to brainwash the reps. who are in the 99% that should never vote republican.

Just like Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX), Bachmann's egregious defense of BP over those who are losing everything in the Gulf areas (not to mention the oil-soaked wildlife and disappearing wetlands), is promoting her party/business over country/citizens.

She forgets that if you admit wrongdoing – it’s a done deal!
BP it seems, are even better than Republicans in that respect – they have the stones to admit they’ve done something wrong.

I hope she and other republicans keep taking the oil companies side. It is a sure way for them to get stomped in the midterm elections.

Don't be Fooled by the Show that Obama is putting on, Sadcat Stevens.
"BP The Green Oil Company" donated $980,000 to Obama's 2008 Campaign.
It's all a show put on for you, honey.
Don't fall for it, eh?
