TEENS: What kind of books do you like?

Like sci-fi, action, romance...?

Or an actiony-romance-thriller with blood being splattered all over the walls and maniacal laughter...?

Right... I'm so bored. x)

Update:

I personally like all kinds of books, but I shy away from the "vampire romance" books. I like... the warror cat books, Maximum Ride, historical fiction, romance, thriller. All kinds. :)

Mostly real life... stuff that gets you thinking about life and meaning etc. My favourite book at the moment's Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes :)

Books that have an interesting plot :D I like romantic side-stories, but I don't (usually) like books where it's the main one. Some teen books are alright, but they always seem to centre around the parents' divorce/one parent dying and moving house and meeting the perfect guy/girl. I know people go through this, but it's such a cliché plotline.

I usually read sci-fi and fantasy books but I absolutely loved The Thirteenth Tale. I like to stay clear of anything that focuses on romance and lean towards action but nothing too violent either. A few years ago I really like vampire novels but thanks to the twilight bandwagon there's so many of them and most of them suck.

I enjoy books that have a unique plot to them, a plot that hasn't been done often and gives me a sense of inspiration. As for a genre, I'd say sci-fi/adventure, I'm not into the mushy gushy kind of books.

It depends on the type of teen. DIfferent people like different things. I love romance its just so cute, but my cousin hates romance she would much rather read something about teen prostitutes like the book trick. I like nicholas sparks, emily giffin, and danielle steel.

i basically have two groups i really like, when im looking for a good book to sit with, i like the well written books that talk about real life scenarios and moral issues, like "the little friend" by donna tartt and "to kill a mockingbird", and when im looking for a fun read that i dont really want to sink my mind into, i like the supernatural romances (NOT TWILIGHT, i mean more like "beautiful creatures" and "vampire academy"). i also like books like the Hannibal series and Dexter series, so murder books. books i dont like are poorly written supernatural romances (which is practically all of them) and "teen" books, like i dont read sara dressen, i actually think her writing is sort of garbage (all of her books are unrealistic and have the same plot with different scenarios), and books like that, i prefer adult literature where they dont talk about makeup and angst and dont question your intelligence. i used to like jodi piccoult, she has a few really good books, mainly her early stuff, but shes gone down hill fast.

I like books that mess with your head and leave you thinking about it for days.
