I don't think regulating BP is on your agenda when you are getting millions in campaign contributions from them.

Obama has been in power for over a year. He has to take some of the responsibility. Yes, the previous administration also did nothing to change the woeful lack of regulation on deep water drilling. Surely both have to take some responsibility?
I mean, yesterday the committee spent about half an hour yelling at the BP CEO, talking about his appalling safety record, the dangers they didn't think about, how we all knew for ages there were problems but BP did nothing - but they also knew, and as elected officials they have a lot more of a duty of care to the people of Louisiana etc. than BP, yet they didn't do anything. How hypocritical can you get? The last two months have been nothing more than a huge PR exercise to try and divert attention away from the failings of government, and focus it all on one 'foreign' company.

Bush had nine months to stop the terrorist, he had intel, so he knew we were going to be attacked. The Israeli spies knew too, and they claim that they informed the U.S. of who exactly was involved. Yet bush let 3,000 people get murdered.
Now you were asking about Obama. The problem wasn't regulations, but BP failure to investigate and report signs of failures. What we need now though is to have a U.S. representative stationed on the rigs at BP's expense. Because they can't be trusted to respond accordingly to any signs of failure. This was a preventable incident.
More regulation on them would had only been more of congress fiasco, with the opposition claiming it was socialist.
And why wasn't it left well regulated before Bush left?
Because Republicans deregulated them enough to keep government out of BPs (and Cons) business.

Do these people realize that the GOP CAN NOT DO A THING?
The Democrats have had control of congress since 1/07 and the White House since 1/09.
That is more than enough time to have made the place a liberal paradise!

Everytime he tries to do something the GOP says no and apologizes to big business. We are just now getting people to come forward and tell the problems left by Bush and don't forget Cheney's energy meetings behind closed doors?

Obama needs 20 years to do one thing, be patient.

If he would have done anything the conservatives would have screamed bloody murder. Accusing him of govt takeover of oil industry
