which one is right to say : "Downtown Chicago" or " Chicago downtown"?

    How kind of you to ask, it really doesn't matter, for homework I'd say Downtown Chicago as its descriptive of the place your talking about.

    This is what my teachers or professors would say, the easiest way to describe the nouns you're thinking about is to see if the noun alone would sound okay in your mind with the word "the" in front of it if it passes muster then you're okay.

    But if your homework is asking what people would look for then I'd just think of search terms people you know would look for and it's isn't always what's proper in the English language in my experience.

    The "more correct" is downtown Chicago

    BUT

    The "right way" is the "Loop."
