My dog is coughing up white foam and flem? Asthma?
Ok, my dog is a year old, and she has all her shots. I took her to the vet about two months ago, bc she was breathing funny, like there was something in her throat she had to breath around. well, the vet said asthma, and gave her temaril and aminophylline, one for the asthma and one inflammation, well, she's still on the aminophylline, and she still is breathing the same, but now she is coughing until she throws up! It's white foam and flem(like a hocker) and she wakes up every few hours at night doing this, she hasn't had any energy or mood changes. she's still hyper and plays but sometimes she'll stop cough stuff up and the continue. I have an appointment monday for the vet but is there anything I can do for her till then or should i find like a doggy emergency room. please help

Keep your dog's appointment. I think it may have something to do with the asthma or maybe the food she is eating. I wouldn't say it is an emergency.

My 13 year old dog does that too, she started years ago, we had a couple vets tell us it's nothing and that there's nothing we could do. Well the third vet gave us lasiks...They said she has fluid in her lungs and heart and a heart murmur. But it had to get really severe before they could hear it. Also I've heard that if a dog has an over sized heart and it pushes against the lungs that they will also do that. My dog has been doing this for years. It just wears her out. Look into lasiks (I'm not sure if that's spelled right but that's how it's pronounced) It's a water pill. Ask your vet maybe they will know what I'm talking about and maybe they will consider it.
