Not much given that the country is poor ...

On top of that ... one of the top DSL provider offers free live streaming for their subscribers. While the rest would either go to the cinemas to watch it live ... or just wait for the delayed telecast on tv. And oh there are some restos and (sport) shops that has PPV and invites and let people to watch it with them for free.

Not as much as you would think, the Philippines is by American or European standards rather poor, so the economy doesn't generate the gates that the other venues do. Manny is immensely popular everywhere, especially in the Philippines, but the economic situations of different places around the world vary with each circumstance. Comparatively speaking the U.S. and Europe are fairly well off in comparison to the rest of the world and boxing revenue, like anything else will reflect that.

Probably very little. No offense to Filipinos but the Philippines is a third world country and people can't afford $50 or $60 to pay for a payperview. If The Philippines was at least modern and rich like Hong Kong or Japan, Pacquaio could probably break records on payperview sales.

    Edit:

At the person below me, Puerto Rico aint a third world country. Do some research please.

Not much, since Pacquiao's fights are usually televised with just an hour delay from the actual time. Those who can afford are able to watch the fight in real time through closed circuit TV in a theater, by paying about P600 each. Most theaters who show it are packed. Admittedly, the Country is poor but it doesn't reduce their enthusiasm to watch their idol in action even if they have to borrow money. Please remember that the Ali-Frazier fight was held in Manila.

Honestly, not much at all. 1 dollar in the US, convert to Philippine Pesos is like 40 to 50 Pesos. but hey! look at the bright side, every time Pacquiao fights. The whole country watches, LOL!

    Hi formarkiz,

It's great to see you bro.

The Philippines is not a wealthy country as blogbaba and Cathee has mentioned. I take no offense to that because that is reality. The Gross Domestic Product of the Philippines is smaller than that of New York City. Although there are many wealthy people, 40 percent of the country is in poverty.

I am very proud of coming from the Philippines who takes a lot of pride and honor in boxing but at the same time realistically despite of its large number of boxing fans. most people cannot afford to purchase a payperview show like boxing because a cost of $49.99 or $59.99 is more than someone's salary in four or five days of working.

The revenue from Pacquaio fights are largely coming from advertising which television channels pay Pacquaio a particular share of the revenues together with Top Rank. This can amount to tens of millions of dollars but it is still not sufficient compared to the money garnered at ppv events in the United States.

The only one here who makes absolute sense is Jon. Lets try to compare apples to apples not apples to oranges.
