My baby is 4 months old. How often a day should I feed her baby cereal?
She was 7lbs when she was born and now (@ 4 months old) 12-13lbs. I've only been giving it to her once a day and she still drinks her 4oz bottles every 2-3 hours and sleeping through the night. But I just now started adding a little vegetable baby food to it. Should I still only feed her once daily or twice daily?

You should not feed her solids at all. Your doctor should update there information as solids are NOT recommended until at least 6 months. You are inviting more food allergies.

I am in the same boat as you. My daughter is about 4 months old and was born at 7 lbs. She sleeps 10-12 hours straight through the night and has for about 2 weeks now. She eats about 6 oz of formula about 4 times a day (she takes another long 5 hour nap still during the day).
Just yesterday she seemed to still be hungry after her 6 oz in the morning so I decided to try the cereal (my doc said 4 months was totally fine for cereal). She loved it! She ate quite a bit actually I was surprised! I was also wondering how often to give it to her and I just saw that starting at once a day and working up to twice a day is normal. I guess she will let me know when she's still hungry after the bottle. If she's only eating 4 oz bottles still, I would say you need to increase the oz of breastmilk/formula first before adding the solids necessarily. It's normal for them to get to 6-8 oz per feeding before giving the solids I think.
My doctor said to do the cereal at 4 mths, juices at 5 mths, and jar food mixed in at 6+ mths.
Doctors are not God and they really do not KNOW everything. You have to follow your child's cues and do what you think is best with the help and counsel of your doctor. :) Good Luck!!!

The recommended age is now 6 months. This has had to of been changed within the last 2 years because with my oldest 2 it was always 4 months. I always fed them cereal for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Introduce vegetables and fruits slowly. Wait a week in between changes so that you know the baby handles it ok, and don't have to start over again to figure it out. They recommend sweet potatoes, and pears are the best things to start with.
Make sure the dr is ok with solids this young. My older 2 have never had problems with food allergies, so I don't really know why they changed the ages. Follow your drs advice and you'll be fine.
