NASCAR Nation....................... Who Else Would Like..?

To see Jacques Villeneuve in a Cup car??

Update:

Let me see now, he was entered at Daytona, but qualifying was rained out so he never even got a chance (the car had no owner points)..

And he qualified sixth at Talladega.. He then voluntarily started in the rear, so he wouldn't get in the way of the "Chasers".. He finished sixteenth, and on the lead lap.. He wasn't the last car on the lead lap either..

Doesn't sound like a failure, miserable, or otherwise..

Update 2:

Thanx everyone/ I'm a hundred percent with you dalejr4/ I'm a long time fan, and I think he would be awesome in a decent ride

ME, I love Jacques, I followed him in F1 and Indy Car, but I want him to be in a top ride, not a go or go homer car, I was pissed when he ran outta gas today in the nationwide race. I was hoping he could be there at the end to pull off a win. I was fan of his dad also. Put Jacques in top equipment, he will do great..He gave it a shot in cup about 2 yrs ago but was in crappy junk equipment.

Go Dale Jr..Bring it on in 2010

He's a hard-nosed driver, much in the vein of Ambrose. I don't think he has the same ambition as Ambrose though, which is to go to Nascar "for the ovals." Still, it'd be great if Villeneuve could take that 32 of TBR into a Cup road course and fight for the win.

I would have liked it, I was a fan of his dad's. But he failed to show the proper amount of dedication to the NASCAR ownership, when things got tough, he bailed and went sports car racing. He also failed to bring a big sponsor (outside of canada) which shouldn't be that hard for a CART and F1 champ. He waited too long, and tried NASCAR well after the shine on his star had begun to fade, I suspect because he thought stock cars were beneath him; ie: he wasn't interested in starting in Truck or Nationwide.

Had he done it soon after his exit from F1, his stock with sponsors would have been much higher.

Had he been more willing (sooner) to start in a lower series, he would have had a much better shot.

It's a tough transition, look at Franchitti, who you must admit, tried a LOT harder to make it work.

NASCAR hadn't settled on 40 3 autos, in any respect.. They settled on 40 two autos, till specific previous Champs someway lost the flexibility to qualify for races.. This bring about the forty third motor vehicle interior the sphere, hassle-free with the aid of fact the "previous Champions provisional"...
