What is camera battery cover leakage?

I sent my camera for repair the other day and got it back fixed. The problem was :- battery cover leakage. What does that mean?

Before this, my camera cannot be turned on at all..

    The stuff inside batteries is quite nasty stuff...toxic and corrosive.

    Obviously some leaked past the seals on the battery and damaged the camera. Probably the contacts.

    If you were using the original supplied battery or good name disposables, contact the makers and see what they have to say.

    that means the battery that u brought is broken and it will break ur camera
