There are alternative applications for doing things on your webcam (some better). You are not forced to use only the software that came with the webcam (although you will need the proper drivers to make your webcam show up in Device Manager as working properly).

www.WebcamMax.com is the best Windows software around but not free (even has desktop screen brodcast ability, record your cam video), so there is ManyCam.com as a freeware alternative. These will let you add fun effects and templates to your video feed (other features like fake cam, multiple cams, photo snap, etc).
