Look, on top of your question, just below the navigation menu there's a line that reads:
Home > All Categories > Computers & Internet > Programming & Design > Open Question
that is called a breadcrumb. It's not specific to Joomla, it's a more or less universal term in Web design.

Breadcrumbs shows the history of the pages you have visited on the website.. it can be place at any module position on the website. Its display is controlled by the module manager in the joomla backend.

You usually put it near the top of the page, in a corner. It shows you the path you took from the home page to the page you're on.
