Which should I buy, iPod Classic, or iPod Touch?

I want the 160GB iPod Classic because it holds much more than the iPod touch, but for much less. On the other hand, I really want the 64GB iPod Touch because I love the applications. So do I go for cheaper & able to hold all my music, or more expensive and get to buy the apps I want? Thanks!!

iPod touch. It is my choice.

I think you can try it also.

In my personal opinion I would get the iPod Classic because you think you won't run out of space with the touch but you end up proving yourself wrong, I learned that the hard way, but the apps are fun on an ipod touch, so I think it all depends on your computer space on how much it holds, if your hard drive holds a lot, go with the classic, if it is somewhat small go with the touch, but a little tip with the touch, I would get the 64 instead of the 32 or 8 because the more space the better and you can hold more when your ipod gets older so definitely get which ever you want and I hope I helped! Also if you have a lot of video definitely go with the iPod Classic :)

If it were me, I'd go for the Touch, but there are tradoffs.

My wife had the Classic; and I put a lot of her music on it, from her CDs, and recorded dance music streams (using WinAmp and streamripper) which she mostly uses for walking. I ripped her music at I believe 320 since she had a ton of space.

That was stolen; and I suggested to her that she get the Touch--I suggested the (this was gen 2) 16 gig but she looked at the theoretical song capacity and figured the 8 would be enough. I figured she could use the nice features, the email, Safari, weather as well other aps. including the Nike+.

In fact she only still uses the Touch for walking; and never uses any of the other functions; and the space on it is a little tight. The only real benefit to her of the Touch is the "touch" interface is much nicer and easier to navigate and get her music. She probably would have been better off getting another Classic.

I have a gen 3 32gig and I love it--I use it mostly to listen to podcasts; I have a lot of music on it but when I listen to music with it I usually listen to Pandora or Last.fm via wifi. I have a bunch of apps, most rarely used, but Safai, Accuweather, mail, a 12C calculator, and a couple of others are handy to have. And while I don't watch a lot of youTube when I do the youtube app works really well; and you are not tethered to your computer. You can also buy and read Kindle books; and there are other book apps.

One nice thing about the Touch if you like audiobooks or podcasts is the ability to play back content in "music" at 1/2X, 1X, or 2X; mostly I listen to podcasts at 2X and because the pitch is adjusted to sound normal, they are very easy to listen to.

The other *really* nice thing about the Touch is that anything from the iTunes store, including audiobooks, apps (free or paid), music, and the free podcasts all can be downloaded via

wifi without connecting the Touch to the computer or firing up iTunes. I rarely connect my Touch to iTunes anymore.

In terms of storage, 64 gigs is a lot; the only reason I think you might need more is if you were putting video content on, but even for that I think the Touch wins: It doesn't have the capacity of the Classic but the screen is bigger so it will be a better experience. You just might have to swap out stuff more often.

So, I'd say, get the Touch.

You've really go to think hard on this. Even though the iPod Classic has more memory, the iTouch does a lot more. The iTouch has: Internet capability Email Youtube Cool Apps Bigger Screen for Videos I would get the iTouch cause I have it and personally love it. The only bad thing about it is that it runs low on battery on some certain apps. I would personally get the iTouch

Do you really need all 160GB of music at your fingertips? I can't imagine anyone really does. Get the itouch and put the songs you're currently interested in listening to on it. Then switch the music out and in as your tastes change...
